Most of us are tied to technology. Whether it’s our smart phone, car navigation, laptops, tablets, or even smart home appliances like Alexa, we all rely on technology on a daily, or even an hourly basis. It’s no surprise that technology has changed the workplace and made a tremendous impact on workplace safety.
June is National Safety Month, and to honor the intention of this month we want to discuss the value of technology in the workplace. Countless companies see the benefit of utilizing technology to grow, and positively impact their business, and ultimately improve their safety.
Recently, our very own founder, CEO, and safety leader, Dr. Kevan Orvitz, was published in ISHN magazine, discussing how to embrace technology in the workplace. Within the article, Dr. Orvitz discusses how technology is changing the face of business, it’s impact on the workplace, and how it allows for positive changes in workplace safety.
Technology is at the foundation of MEGAComfort. From its inception, our company recognized that new technologies can dramatically improve workplace safety. While working in automotive factory, Dr. Orvitz saw that anti-fatigue matting was insufficient to provide foot support and comfort for those employees standing for long periods of time during their workday, and therefore had a negative effect on their health and safety.
He saw that slips, trips, and falls were more likely to occur with matting, and that matting was limited in its ability to effectively prevent fatigue. It was then that Dr. Orvitz made the MEGAComfort dream a reality and utilized cutting-edge technology to create the MEGAComfort patented dual layer 100% memory foam insoles.
From our most popular insole, the Personal Anti-Fatigue Mat (PAM) we have always focused on implementing new technology to grown our company. We are excited to launch our new MEGASteps™ Insole and Footwear Advisor, which utilizes technology to analyze your foot size and arch type and then recommends the best insole and footwear, in less than 1 minute.
During our beta testing phase, we have installed the MEGASteps Advisor at many locations throughout the United States. The MEGASteps Footwear and Insole Advisor will be officially launching this year at ASSE Safety 2017 in Denver CO, June 19-22. Drop by booth 1281 if you are attending this year’s show and get your foot scanned.
Our goal is to continue to produce products that make a positive impact on each employee, creating waves of beneficial changes within workplace safety for each company.
